Mr. Simul Chakma and Mr. Dhiman Chakma

On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Mohalchari

On 29 Nov. 1986, Bangladesh army of 32 EBR from tne army camp at Mohalchari led by Capt. M.A. Helal launched a military operation against the indigenous Buddhist inhabitants of Gangama Char and Dheppua Chari in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district. During the operation, Bangladesh army arrested and severely beat following indigenous people.

  1. Mr. Dhorongya Chakma (35), son of Mr. Ladujya Chakma of Gangama Chara, Mohalchari. Bangladesh army arrested him from his home, took him to the army camp at Mohalchari and severely beat him.
  2. Mr. Batya Chakma (35), address as above. Bangladesh army rounded him up from his home and severely beat him.
  3. Mr. Kalachan Chakma (30) of Dheppua Chari, Mohalchari. Bangladesh army severely beat him as above.
  4. Mr. Vasant Kumar Chakma (50), son of late Dhonya Chakma of Gangama Chara, Mohalchari.
  5. Mr. Mau Khyai Marma (30), son of Mr. Ugyo Marma of Pola U Para, Mohalchari.
  6. Mr. Shanti Kumar Chakma (35), of Dheppua Chari, Mohalchari.
