Bangladesh army torture and rape indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Panchari
On 2 December l986, Bangladesh army of 19 EBR from the army camps at Prodeep Para and Nalkaba (in Panchari) launched a military operation against the indigenous Buddhist village Tarabon in Panchari, Khagrachari district.
Bangladesh army subjected an innocent indigenous Chakma Buddhist to severe physical torture and gang raped his
daughter. The victims are:
Mr. Sundar Chakma (45 yrs), son of Mr. Kishto Mohan Chakma of Tarabon, Panchari. He was subjected to severe physical torture and beating. Bangladesh army forced water through his nostrils and mouth.
Miss. Nayan Tara Chakma (17 yrs), daughter of Mr. Sundar Chakma of Tarabon, Panchari. Bangladesh army beat and raped her in front of her father.
