On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. The settlers destroyed many indigenous houses and Buddhist temples. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. One of the Buddhist temples burnt down by the settlers.

Bangladesh army tortures an indigenous Buddhist woman in Dighinala

On 17 December 1986, a Subedar (non-commissioned officer) of Bangladesh army from the army camp at Bor Adam in Dighinala beat an indigenous Chakma woman in Dighinala, Khagrachari district.

The indigenous woman is the Head Mistress of the Primary School at Noon Chari in Dighinala. She was beaten on the road near the residence of Mr. Pulin Headman.

The matter was reported to Major Lutfur of Bangladesh army of army camp at Bor Adam. But no action was taken against the culprit.

The victim is Mrs. Sushoma Devi Chakma (36 yrs), wife of Mr. Purna Kumar Chakma of Babu Chara, Dighinala.
