On 19 December 1986, Bangladesh army men gang raped Vira Rani Chakma (16) of Nuaram Karbari Para, Dighinala. About 20 Bangladesh army personnel from the Viswa Ram Karbari Para army camp of Dighinala raided the indigenous Chakma village of Nuaram Karbari Para in the morning. All the male inhabitants of the village were taken by force to cut the jungle surrounding the army camp. Bangladesh army encircled the village at 11:00 a.m. and on the pretext of searching entered the houses. All the women and the girls who were in their houses, were stripped by the soldiers and were gang raped. Even the minors were not spared.

Bangladesh army rape and torture indigneous Chakma Buddhists in Panchari

On 26 Dec. 1986, Bangladesh army of 19 EBR from the army camps at Prodeep Para and Nalkaba in Panchari raided the indigenous Buddhist village Kuradia Chara in Panchari, Khagrachari district.

During the raid, Bangladesh army tortured and raped indigenous Buddhist inhabitants. The victims are:

1. Mr. Harendra Lal Chakma (38 yrs), son of Mr. Trisankha Chakma of Kuradia Chara, Panchari. Bangladesh army personnel severely beat the victim in his own home and then took him to the Primary School at Kuradia Chara where he was subjected to severe physical torture.

18. Mrs. Chiyombi Chakma (32 yrs), wife of Mr. Uttam Chakma of Kuradia Chara, Panchari. She wes beaten and raped in her home by the army personnel.
19. Mr. Ananta Singh Tripura (45 yrs), son of Mr. Hori Sadhon Tripura of Hori Sadhon Karbari Para, Kuradia Chara, Panchari. He was severely beaten in his home and then he was taken to the Primary School at Kuradia Chara where he was again subjected to severe beeting by the army personnel.
