On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 5 indigenous Buddhist villages in Ramgarh and 2 indigenous villages in Manikchari in Chittagong Hill Tracts. In this attack around 200 indigenous houses including 2 Buddhist temples were torched. At least 20 indigenous people were injured and at least half dozen indigenous people were missing. An indigenous woman in front of her burnt house.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Rangamati

On 1 Apr. 1987, Bangladesh army of 40th East Bengal Regiment from the army camp at Champatoli of Ghagra raided the indigenous Buddhist village Harangi Para in Ghagra, Rangamati district. Bangladesh army severely beat and robbed indigenous inhabitants. The victims are:

1. Mr. Buddha Muni Chakma (32), son of Mr. Sashi Bhusan Chakma of Harangi Para, Ghagra. BD army serverely beat him and robbed 1 fowl from him.
2. Mr. Jerbuaram Chakma (34), son of Mr. Indra Raj Chakma, address as above. He was beaten and robbed as above.
3. Mr. Surya Chakma (21), son of Mr. Shobha Rattan Chakma, address as above. Beaten and robbed as above.
4. Mr. Krishna Muni Chakma (34), son of Mr. Purna Chandra Chakma, address as above. BD army severely beat him and robbed 5 fowls from him.
5. Mr. Barun Chakma (43), son of late Urakanta Chakma, address as above. BD army serverely beat him and robbed 1 fowl from him.
6. Mr. Neelo Muni Chakma (45), son of Mr. Chandra Kumar Chakma, address as above. Beaten and robbed as above.
7. Mr. Jeetendra Lal Chakma (55), son of Mr. Dharma Chandra Chakma, address as above. Beaten and robbed as above.
8. Mr. Kalo Banshi Chakma (60), son of late Bhula Chakma, address as above. Beaten and robbed as above.
9. Mr. Bhorot Chakma (45), son of Mr. Man Mohan Chakma of Kuzoi Chari, Ghagra. BD army severely beat him and robbed 160 kilograms of turmeric and 20 kilograms of potatoes.
10. Mr. Surya Mohan Chakma (46), son of Mr. Baza Mon Chakma, address as above. BD army robbed clothes and 1 fowl from him.
