On 15 March 2015, Bangladeshi security forces attacked indigenous peple in Dighinala. Indigenous people were demostrating against construction of BGB headquarter at Babuchara in Dighinala. At least 8 indigenous people were injured in the attack.

Bengali settlers attack indigenous people in Dighinala

On 16 July 1987, Muslim settlers attacked and abducted indigenous people who were going to market at Merung in Dighinala, Khagrachari district. Bangladesh army of Merung instigated the Muslim settlers to attack indigenous people. The victims are:

1. Mr. Premo Ranjan Chakma (24), son of Mr. Reezav Chandra Chakma of Chongra Chari Boradam. Muslim settlers severely beat him.
2. Mr. Nirmal Chandra Chakma (40), son of Mr. Suroppya Chakma of Lamba Chara, Choto Merung. Muslim settlers severely beat him.
3. Mr. Bindu Chakma (22), son of Mr. Ratna Mohan Chakma of Vaidya Para, Dighinala. He was severely beaten and then handed over to the police with a false lawsuit.
4. Mr. Muroti Chakma (20), son of Mr. Ratna Mohan Chakma, address as above. Muslim settlers severely beat him.
