On 3 April 2006, Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Mahalchari of Khagrachari. Indigenous Chakma children took refuge at Balipara Primary School after their villages were burnt down by the Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers.
Bangladesh army torture indigneous people in Naniachar
On 14 Aug. 1987, Bangladesh army from Naniachar camp led by Capt. Syed raided indigenous Buddhist village Bhuiyo Adam of Burighat Union in Naniachar, Rangamait district.
During the raid, Bangladesh army rounded up indigenous people from their homes and beat them up. The victims are:
Mr. Sonanga Chakma (30), son of Mr. Chandra Sen Chakma of Bhuiyo Adam, Burighat Union. He was rounded up from his house and was severely beaten and then taken to a local school where he was again beaten inhumanly by the army personnel.

Mr. Bijoy Kumar Chakma (29), son of Mr. Pettua Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
