On 3 January 2018, Bangladesh army backed collaborators shot dead Mithun Chakma (22) at Switch Gate in Khagrachari. Mr. Mithun Chakma is a prominent member of UPDF. After attending the court hearing in the morning at Khagrachari district court, Mithun Chakma went home at Aparna Chaudhury Para in Khagrachari district of Bangladesh. A group of Bangladesh army collaborators abducted him from his home, took him to a place known as Switch Gate and shot him in the head and stomach.

Bengali settlers murder 4 indigenous men in Barkal

On 30 Oct. 1987, Muslim settlers murdered 4 indigenous people at Baruna Chari in Barkal, Rangamati district.

Indigenous people were returning home from the market with food grains in a boat. Muslim settlers and VDP (Village Defence Party) attackcd them at Baruna Chari. Muslim settlers and VDP brutally murdered them and then robbed Taka 6000.00, 3 maunds (1 maunds is approximately 40 KG) of paddy, 1 maund of rice and goods worth Taka 1000. The victims are:

1. Mr. Shantimoy Chakma (28), son of late Gunachandra Chakma of Dhighal Chari, Subalong, Barkal.
2. Mr. Sachi Ranjan Chakma (25), son of Mr. Pakka Chakma. Address as above.
3. Mr. Akahay Mani Chakma (31), son of Mr. Kishta Chakma. Address as above.
4. Mr. Sneha Ranjan Chakma (35) son of Mr. Ghuchaga Chakma. Address as above.
