On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. The settlers destroyed many indigenous houses and Buddhist temples. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. Indigenous Chakma boys in grief after the attack. |
Bangladesh army torture an indigenous Chakma Buddhist in Zurochari
On 26 Nov. 1987, Bangladesh army of 12th East Bengal Regiment from the army camp at Banjogi Chara led by Lt. Col. Akram Hossain inhumanly tortured an innocent person. The victim is:
- Mr. Shantimoy Chakma (42) of Banjogi Chara, Zurochari.
