On 30 June 2013 Bangladesh police opened fire on indigenous Buddhist people in south Khabongpujya area of Khagrachari district. An indigenous Buddhist woman identified as Chanchala Chakma (50) was seriously injured by the rubber bullets.
Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Rangamati
On 13 July 1988 at 14:30 hrs, Bangladesh army of 30 EBR from the army camp at Kuduk Chari led by Capt. Atiqur Rahman raided the indigenous Buddhist village Manik Chari Madhya Adam in Rangamati. During the raid, Bangladesh army severely beat and tortured indigenous people. The victims are:
