On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati.
When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers.
76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.
Bangladesh army terrorizes indigenous Chakma Buddhist in Mahalchari
On 5 Aug. 1988, Bangladesh army from Khyanghat camp and Armed Police Battalion (APB) from Jantranath Karbari Para camp led by Major Badrul Huda raided the indigenous Buddhist villages West Khyanghat Para and Jantra Nath Karbari Para in Mahalchari, Khagrachari district. Bangladesh raided indigenous Buddhist villages on pretext of operations against the Shanti Bahini. Bangladesh army arrested innocent indigenous inhabitants and took them to the army camp where they were subjected to inhuman tortures during interrogation. The victims are:
