On 17 February 2011; Border Guards of Bangladesh and Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Longadu leaving at least 2 indigenous people seriously injured. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. A Chakma couple pick up the pieces after the house was burnt down by the settlers.

Bangladesh army arrest 2 indigenous persons in Longadu

On 23 Nov. 1988, Bangladesh army of 14 EBR from the army Zonal HQ at Mainee Mukh along with Muslim setters raided the indigenous Buddhist village Boradam in Longadu, Rangamati district.

During the raid Bangladesh army arrested 2 indigenous persons. They were taken to the Zonal HQ at Mainee Mukh for interrogation. Bangladesh army pressed them to accuse Mr. Sachin Lal Karbari (an indigenous person) of Boradam, Longadu that he possessed illegal firearm.

The victims were released on 26 Nov, 1988. The raid was carried out due to a report given by a Muslim settler named Hassan Ali, son of Mobin of Batya Para, Longadu.
