Mr. Simul Chakma and Mr. Dhiman Chakma

On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.

Mr. Simul Chakma and Mr.Dhiman Chakma, 2 indigenous Buddhist victims of the brutal attack.


Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Baghaichari

On 26 Nov. 1988, Bangladesh army of 41 EBR from the army camp at Karengatali led by Lt. Ershad encircled Karengatali market in Baghaichari, Rangamati district. Bangladesh army arrested 3 indigenous people and severely beat them. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Thak Khula Chakma (60) of Punya Dhan Karbari Para, Bangal Toli Mouza, Baghai Chari.
  2. Mr. Anila Chakma (20), son of Mr. Thak Khula Chakma, address as above.
  3. Mr. Suchitra Chakma (23), son of Mr. Bhagya Dhan Chakma, address as above.
