On 2 February 1992 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers killed at least 30 indigenous Chakma Buddhists at Mallya. One of them was Shantibala Chakma, the wife of Mr. Saral Kumar Chakma. Two bombs exploded on a river ferry at Mallya. The explosion killed a passenger and seriously injured the skipper of the ferry. The survivors swam ashore but the armed Muslim settlers were waiting for them and attacked the indigenous Chakma Buddhists - men women and children.

Bangladesh army murders 3 indigenous Marma Buddhists in Guimara

On 16 June 1989, Bangladesh army indiscriminately fired mortar shells at indigenous village Dewanpara in Guimara, Khagrachari district. Following indigenous Marma Buddhists were killed and wounded by the shelling:

1. Mr. Remra Chai Marma, 30 yrs, son of Mr. Apu Marma of Dewanpara, Guimara, Khagrachari district. He was instantly killed.
2. Mr. Chai Aungra Chowdhury, 28 yrs, son of Mr. Kongya Aung Chowdhury, address as above. He was killed.
3. Mr. Maung Bathein Marma, 18 yrs, son of Mr. Kandi Marma, address as above. He was killed.
4. Mr.Anung Sanai Marma, 22 yrs, son of Mr. Thoi Angra Marma (member), address as above. Seriously wounded.
5. Mr. Maung Sanai Marma, 21 yrs, son of Mr. Chaloo Aung Marma, address as above. Seriously wounded.
6. Mr. Hla Chai Prue Marma, 18 yrs, son of Mr. Maung Bra Marma, address as above. Wounded.
7. Mr. Agyo Marma, 30 yrs, son of Mr. Abailo Marma, address as above. Wounded.
8. Mr. Moung Shwe Prue Marma, 21 yrs, son of Mr. Kandi Marma, address as above. Wounded.
9. Mr. Ganja Marma, 21 yrs, son of Mr. Kandi Marma, address as above. Wounded.
10. Mr. Pain Maung Marma, 32 yrs, son of Mr. Ruita Marma, address as above. Wounded.
11. Mr. Rhee Prue Marma, 32 yrs, son of Mr. Hla Tree Buli Marma, address as above.
