On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. Indigenous Buddhist girl Mithu Marma (13) was seriously injured in the attack.

Bangladesh army rapes 3 indigenous Buddhist girls in Rangamati

On 29 June 1989, Bangladesh army of 5 EBR from Kudukchari Camp gang raped 3 indigenous Buddhist girls at Kudukchari in Rangamati district. Bangladesh army personnel were identified as Havildar Sobhan, private Karim and private Salim.

Indigenous Buddhist girls were returning from a local market and they were stopped at the Bangladesh army sentry post and were subjected to gang rape. The victims are:

  1. Miss Kacnimika Chakma, 18 yrs, daughter of Mr. Sonadhan Chakma, of Krishnama Chara, Naniachar.
  2. Miss Putuli Chakma, 16 yrs, daughter of Mr. Sanjib Chakma, of Maichchari, Rangamati.
  3. Miss Rupa Chakma, 17 yrs, daughter of Mr. Putul Chandra Chakma, of Ultachari.

Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers use rape as a tool to terrorize the indigenous people of Chittagong Hill Tracts. Bangladesh army is involved in rape, murder, torture and land grabbing in Chittagong Hill Tracts. Bangladesh army is driving out indigenous people from Chittagong Hill Tracts and settling Muslim settlers in their villages. Their aim is to Islamize Chittagong Hill Tracts by rape and terror.

Bangladesh army restricts access to Chittagong Hill Tracts to foreign media and tourists. According to IWGIA, Bangladesh army and DGFI train and harbour Islamic extremists in CHT to launch terror attacks against Myanmar.
