Bijay and Samiran Chakma of Mallya Massacre
On 2 February 1992 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers killed at least 30 indigenous Chakma Buddhists at Mallya. 2 of them were Bijay Chakma and Samiran Chakma, the sons of Saral Kumar Chakma. Two bombs exploded on a river ferry at Mallya. The explosion killed a passenger and seriously injured the skipper of the ferry. The survivors swam ashore but the armed Muslim settlers were waiting for them and attacked the indigenous Chakma Buddhists - men women and children.

Bangladesh army tortures 2 indigenous Tripura Hindus in Khagrachari

On 26 Dec. 1989, Bangladesh army of 31 EBR from Kukichara Army Camp led by Leut. Maisuddin arrested 2 indigenous Hindu persons from their houses at Baltali in Khagrachari. Bangladesh army severely beat and tortured the indigenous victims. The arrested persons were sent to the Zonal Head Quarter at Khagrachari for interrogation. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Binode Jyoti Tripura, 28 yrs, son of Mr. Sashi Ranjan Tripura, of Beltali, No. 265 Bangal Kati Mouza, Khagrachari.
  2. Mr. Purna Kishore Tripura, 60 yrs, Karbari (village Head), address as above.

India was partitioned on the basis of religion in 1947. 98.5% of the CHT population was non-Muslim during the partition. The indigenous people of CHT opted to join either India or Burma. But Muslim League conspired with the Boundary Commission and illegally annexed CHT with East Pakistan in violation of the principle of partition. Successive Bangladesh governments have been sponsoring Muslim settlers from plain land to dilute the indigenous people of CHT.

Bangladesh army's role in CHT is to protect the Muslim settlers and carry out massacre, extra-judicial killing, torture, detention withou trial, land grab, rape, religious persecution and ethnic cleansing against indigenous Buddhist, Hindu and Animist people in CHT.
