On 17 February 2011; Border Guards of Bangladesh and Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Longadu leaving at least 2 indigenous people seriously injured. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. A Chakma couple pick up the pieces after the house was burnt down by the settlers.

Bangladesh army robs and sets ablaze indigenous Buddhist villages in Dighinala

On 12-13 October 1990, Bangladesh Army of the 6th East Bengal Regiment from the Babuchara Army Camp led by Maj. Zubair raided the indigenous Buddhist villages Beltala, Nunchari and Sadarachara in Dighinala, Khagrachari District.

Bangladesh army stole live stocks and valuable belongings of the indigenous Buddhist villagers and then set their houses ablaze. The affected indigenous people were:

  1. Mr. Chigan Chakma, son of Mr. Bijay Kumar Chakma of Beltala village
  2. Mr. Padmalochan Khisa, son of Mr. Jamini Mohan Khisa of Nunchari village
  3. Mrs. Mayadevi Chakma, wife of Mr. Gappua Chakma of Beltala village and so on
