Bangladesh Ansar rape an indigenous Buddhist woman in Dighinala

On 9 April 1991, a member of Bangladesh Ansar (Islamic Guards) raped an indigenous Buddhist woman at Babuchara in Dighinala, Khagrachari district.

In Dighinala, there are many so called cluster villages (concentration camps). Shanti Gram of Babuchara is one of them.

On that day at 12:30 pm, Mrs. Anuva Debi Chakma (30) went to the Maini river bank to collect water. A member of the Bangladesh Ansar named Hanif attacked and barbarously raped Mrs. Anuva Debi Chakma.

Mr. Bira Sen Chakma, the husband of Mrs. Anuva Debi Chakma appealed to Hakim, the commander of Babu Chara Sub Zone. But no action was taken against Hanif the Ansar.
