On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 5 indigenous Buddhist villages in Ramgarh and 2 indigenous villages in Manikchari in Chittagong Hill Tracts. In this attack around 200 indigenous houses including 2 Buddhist temples were torched. At least 20 indigenous people were injured and at least half dozen indigenous people were missing. An indigenous woman in front of her burnt house.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous 5 people in Baghaichari

On 22 April 1991, Bangladesh army of 28 EBR from Baghaichari army camp led by Major Roomi arrested 2 indigenous persons from their homes at Bot Toli in Baghaichari, Rangamati district. Bangladesh army took them to the camp and tortured them during interrogation. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Anil Chandra Chakma (32), son of Mr. Mayachan Chakma.
  2. Mr. Uttam Bikash Chakma (48), son of Mr. Indraban Chakma.

On 24 April 1991, Bangladesh army of 28 EBR from Baghaichari army camp led by Major Roomi surrounded Bot Toli village in Baghaichari, Rangamati district. Bangladesh army arrested 3 indigenous men, took them to the camp and tortured them during interrogation. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Dhirendra Chakma (40), son of Mr. Jyotish Chandra Chakma.
  2. Mr. Chikon Dhan Chakma (30), son of Mr. Takkula Chakma.
  3. Mr. Jatna Dhan Chakma (35), son of Mr. Chandra Mohan Chakma.
