On 2 June 2017, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 4 indigenous Buddhist villages in Longadu. Muslim settlers murdered an indigenous Buddhist women and burnt down more than 250 indigenous Buddhist houses.

On 24 April 1991, Bangladesh army of 21 EBR led by Leut. Mustafizur Rahman from Bhizakizing army camp and Subedar Khalilur Rahman from Midingyachari army camp launched a military operation against the indigenous people of Bhizakizing of Basanta Mouza in Rangamati sub-district. During the operation, Bangladesh army indiscriminately beat and tortured indigenous people. Some of the victims are:

Mr. Ananda Chakma (14), son of Mr. Gopal Chandra Chakma.
Mr. Jayanta Kumar Chakma (13), son of Mr. Kalachoga Chakma.
Mr. Gula Chakma (37), son of Mr. Batya Chakma.
On 25 April 1991, Bangladesh army of 21 EBR beat an indigenous cow herder at Duttang Para of Kaindya Mouza in Rangamati sub-district. Bangladesh army became angry with him as he refused to give them a cow for slaughter. The victim is:
