On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. The settlers destroyed many indigenous houses and Buddhist temples. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. One of the Buddhist temples burnt down by the settlers.

Bangladesh army terrorize indigenous people in Rangamati

0n 4 July 1991, DGFI (Director General of Forces Intelligence) arrested an indigenous person in Rangamati. The indigenous person went to the CHT Development Board for a job interview and DGFI arrested him just before the interview. The victim is:

  1. Mr. Anil Bikash Chakma (28), son of Mr. Rudra Chakma of Shuknachari village in Laxmichari, Khagrachari district.

On 4 July 1991, Bangladesh army of 5 EBR from Ghagra army camp led by Lt. Col. Delwar arrested an indigenous person from his home at Shuknachari in Laxmichari, Khagrachari district. Bangladesh army accused him of being interviewed by 2 foreign journalists who slipped into the CHT without government permission.

Bangladesh army took him to the camp and subjected him to interrogation and beating. The victim is:

  1. Mr. Kinaram Chakma (32), son of late Rudra Chakma.

On 4 July 1991, Bangladesh army from Rangamati Brigade HQ led by Capt. Jahangir arrested an indigenous person from his residence at Banarupa in Rangamati. The victim is:

  1. Mr. Manatosh Chakma, son of Mr. Astik Moni Chakma.
