On 2 June 2017, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 4 indigenous Buddhist villages in Longadu. Muslim settlers murdered an indigenous Buddhist women and burnt down more than 250 indigenous Buddhist houses.

On 30 July 1991, Bangladesh army of 8 Engineers Battalion from the army camp at Bogachari in Naniachar led by Capt. Firoze interrogated an indigenous woman at Bogachari Bazar in Naniachar, Rangamati district. Capt. Firoze forced her to look at the sun for half an hour. Her "crime" was she sought permission to buy rice. The victim is:
