On 9 May 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers raped and killed an indigenous Buddhist girl Miss. Sujata Chakma (11) daughter of late Mr. Jyotish Chandra Chakma and Ms. Mongala Devi Chakma of Ultachari area of Atarakchara union under Longadu sub-district in Rangamati district. The victim was a student of year 4 of Ultachari Government Primary School. Muslim settlers killed the girl by mutilating on the neck with a sharp weapon.
Bengali settlers murder an indigenous boy in Baghaichari
On 21 Aug. 1991, Bangladesh army of 28 East Bengal Regiment of the Marishya Zone led by Leut. Col. Syed Ahmed Fatemi Rumi ordered Muslim settlers and Village Defence Party (VDP) of Marishya Bazar to attack the indigenous people at Marishya Bazar in Baghaichari, Rangamati disrict.
At about 12:00 hours, Muslim settlers attacked indigenous people with knives, spears, sticks and so on. Muslim settlers robbed indigenous killed hugggeg an goods. As a result, 1 indigenous boy was killed and hundreds were wounded. Muslim settlers robbed many indigenous people. The victims are:
Master Nittamay Chakma (10), son of Mr. Basanta Chakma of
Bangal Tali, Baghaichari. He was killed.
Master Cizidhan Chakma (14), son of Mr. Surya Kumar Chakma of the above mentioned address.
Miss Manishi Chakma (12), daughter of Mr. Nikunjalal Chakma of Baradam, Baghaichari.

Miss Deepa Chakma (22), daughter of Mr. Karunamay Chakma, address as above.
