On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 5 indigenous Buddhist villages in Ramgarh and 2 indigenous villages in Manikchari in Chittagong Hill Tracts. In this attack around 200 indigenous houses including 2 Buddhist temples were torched. At least 20 indigenous people were injured and at least half dozen indigenous people were missing. Muslim settlers attacked this indigenous Buddhist girl with machete.

Bangladesh army arrest 2 indigenous men in Naniachar

On 18 September 1991, Bangladesh army of 8 EBR from Naniachar army camp led by Leut. Col. Wahab arrested 2 indigenous men at Naniachar Bazar in Nanichar, Rangamati district. Bangladesh army accused them of involvement of 29 June 1991 incident at Burighat. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Samiran Chakma (26), son of Mr. Binoy Krishna Chakma of Hatimara, Burighat.
  2. Mr. Sneha Kumar Chakma (25), son of Mr. Nigira Sen Chakma of Ramhari Para, Burighat.
