Bangladesh army desecrate Buddhist temple in Dighinala
On 9 Oct. 1991, Bangladesh army of 8 East Bengal Regiment from Baradam army camp led by Subedar Badiul Alam attacked the Buddhist Vihara (temple) at Baradam village in Dighinala, Khagrachari district. Bangladesh army broke the ears of the Lord Buddha's image and saddistically wanted to know whether Lord Buddha felt pain or not.
Indigenous people believe that that Bangladesh army desecrated the temple under the instruction of Brigadier Nasin of the Artillery Brigade stationed at Dighinala Cantonment. Brigadier Nasin is known to be an Islamic zealot who has no respect for non-Muslim faiths.
