Bangladesh army rape an indigenous woman in Naniachar

On 6 Nov. 1991, Bangladesh army of 8 Engineers Battalion from Naniachar Zone led by Leut. Col. Wahab and his assistant Major Zaman arrested and raped an indigenous woman in Naniachar, Rangamati district.

Bangladesh army arrested the indigenou woman when she was returning home after shopping daily necessities from the local market. Bangladesh army tortured and gang raped her at the army camp till 1 a.m. on false allegation that she was shopping for the Shanti Bahini. The victim is:

1. Mrs. Purna Devi Chakma (23), wife of late Nibhulya Chakma of Haringhat Chara in Jadugachara Mouza, Naniachar.
