On 25 December 1986 at 6:00 a.m Bangladeshi army personnel from the Dighinala cantonment rounded up Mr. Baribindu Chakma (38) son of Mr. Jatindra Lal Chakma of Sadhok Chara, Dighinala. Bangladesh army tied his hands and then severely beat him. Bangladesh army men laid him on the ground and kicked him like a football. They hammered his fingers. He was released after 8 and 1/2 hours of torture. He took refuge in Tripura state of India.

Bangladeshi political leaders, lawyers and journalists attempt to visit Longang

On 12 April 1992, a group of 23 lawyers, journalists, students and political leaders of Bangladesh tried to visit the Logang area where a massacre took place on 10 April 1992. The group was able to go upto Panchari Upazilla Headquarters from where the Panchari Army Zonal Commander sent the group back.

However the group was able to attend a meeting organised by the Hill Student Council and the Bizu Festival Celebration Committee at Khagrachari on April 12, 1992. It also joined in the meetings held by the Hill Student Council at Khagrachari and Rangamati on 13 and 14 April 1992 respectively.

The visiting group issued a statement from Dhaka on 18 April 1992.
