On 3 April 2006, Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Mahalchari of Khagrachari. Indigenous Chakma children took refuge at Balipara Primary School after their villages were burnt down by the Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers.
Indigenous people march from Khagrachari to Logang in memory of Logang massacre victims
On 28 April 1992, about 7,000 to 8,000 indigenous people staged a long march from Khagrachari to Logang (28 Kilometre long) under the initiative and auspices of the Hill Student Council. They performed funeral rites at Logang. The Tripura,
Chakma and Marma people performed the rites according to their own social and religious customs.
Some student leaders of Bangladesh Ganatantrik Chatra Oikya namely Mr. Nazmul Hoque Pradhan, Mr. Nur Ahmed, Mr. Belal Chowdhury and so on joined the march and addressed a meeting which was organised at Pujgang High School ground on the same day.
