On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.

Dr. Shusovon Dewan is an indigenous physician in Rangamati. Muslim settlers mercilessly beat him when they found him in the street.


Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Dighinala

On 26 January 1993, an army group headed by captain Salahuddin of Jarulchari army camp raided the Rabindra Karbaripara village in Dighinala, Khagrachari district.

During the raid, Bangladesh army interrogated the villagers and searched their houses. Two villagers were arrested and tortured.
