On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. The settlers destroyed many indigenous houses and Buddhist temples. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. Indigenous Chakma boys in grief after the attack.

Bangladesh army torture 2 indigenous men in Laxmichari

On 7 April 1993, Bangladesh army of 26 EBR from Dudhyakhola army camp led by Major Mohammad Shamim launched a military operation at Suknachari village in Laxmichari, Khagrachari district.

During the operation Bangladesh army mercilessly beat 2 indigenous persons. The victims are:

1. Mr. Dhangula Chakma, son of Mr. Lengya Chakma of Suknachari, Laxmichari.
2. Mr. Golashya Chakma, son of Mr. Dhanya Chakma, address as above.
