Buddhist monk picking up pieces after Naniachar attack

When whole country was celebrating the victory day of the country on 16 Dec 2014, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous people in Bagachari area of Naniarchar to evict them from their traditional land. 50 indigenous houses, 7 shops and 1 Buddhist temple were destroyed.

Bangladesh army terrorize indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Naniachar

On 7 April 1993, Bangladesh army from Naniachar zone launched military operation in Patachari, Borpulpara and Sabekhyong of Naniachar, Rangamati district.

Bangladesh army set up an ambush at a road between Borpulpara and Sabekhyong. An innocent indigenous man Bhutta Chakma son of Sasangka Chakma of Borpulpara was goint to his work. Bangladesh army detained, interrogated and beat him.

The same group of Bangladesh army conducted search and destroy operation at Harinathchara, Jadugachara, Rangipara, Chebokpara and Tholchara on 8 April 1993.

Bangladesh army setup a permanent base at Jadugachara and forced the indigenous Chakma Buddhists of Sabekhyong and Jadugachara do give 500 bamboos and 40 bundles of thatch for roof construction.
