On 19 December 1986, Bangladesh army men gang raped Rita Chakma (13) of Nuaram Karbari Para, Dighinala. About 20 Bangladesh army personnel from the Viswa Ram Karbari Para army camp of Dighinala raided the indigenous Buddhist village of Nuaram Karbari Para in the morning. All the male inhabitants of the village were taken by force to cut the jungle surrounding the army camp. Bangladesh army encircled the village at 11:00 a.m. and on the pretext of searching entered the houses. Bangladesh army stripped all the women and the girls who were in their houses, and gang raped. Even the minors were not spared.

Bangladesh army attempt to rape an indigenous woman in Laxmichari

On 30 June 1993, Bangladesh army numbering 12 soldiers of 26 EBR from new established Suknachari army camp led by Major Shamim launched a military operation in Laxmichari, Khagrachari district.

On the way to Barmachari old bazar Bangladesh army attempted to rape an indigenous woman. Failing to rape her, they hit the woman with gun stocks and serverely tortured her. The angry members of Bangladesh army on reaching the bazar, closed down all shops on the false accusation that the shop keepers supply goods to the Shanti Bahini. The army compelled the shop keepers to shift their shops to the newly opened market near the camp. The victims are:

  1. Mrs. Kanakka Lata Chakma, wife of Mr. Tanyabi Chakma of Barmachari, Laxmichari.
  2. Mr. Kinaram Chakma, son of Mr. Ludu Chakma (shop keeper) of Bodya Para, Laxmichari.
  3. Mr. Kamal Joy Chakma, son of Mr. Chandra Sen Chakma (shop keeper).
  4. Mr. Raj Kumar Chakma, son of Mr. Jubaraj Chakma (shop keeper).
  5. Mr. Rabi Kumar Chakma, son of Mr. Manekya Chakma (shop keeper).
  6. Mr. Bharat Sen Chakma, son of Mr. Jagannath Chakma (shop keeper).
  7. Mr. Ittukya Chakma, son of Mr. Jugendra Chakma (shop keeper).
