On 30 May 2012 Bangladesh police and Muslim settlers raided indigenous Buddhist villages of Howaikyong area under Teknaf in Cox’s Bazaar. In this attack 12 Chakma villagers were severely wounded. 7 Chakma villagers including 4 minors were arrested without warrant. One pregnant woman prematurely gave birth to a baby due to torture and several women were sexually harassed.
Bangladesh army abduct an indigenous girl in Guimara
On 12 August 1993, a Muslim soldier of Bangladesh army of the 8th Engineering Corps of the Guimara Zone abducted an indigenous girl in Guimara, Khagrachari district.
The Muslim soldier threatened and allured her with money. The victim is:
Miss Tripati Chakma (18), daughter of Mr. Birendra Kumar Chakma of the Bara Pilak Para, Guimara.
