On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.

Bangladesh army torture an indigenous man in Mahalchari

On 12 August 1993, Bangladesh army from Guimara Zone and Sindhukchari and Dharmaghat army camps launched a combined military campaign against the indigenous people of the Bara Pilak Hills in Mahalchari, Khagrachari district.

Bangladesh army invaders severely beat an indigenous man during the operation. Bangladesh army arrested him, took him to the camp, tortured and electrocuted him to his ears. As a result of the electricution, his his ear drums were bleeding and he become deaf. The victim is:

  1. Mr. Prem Kumar Chakma (25), son of Mr. Binod Kumar Chakma, of Kandara Karbari Para, Mahalchari.
