Vira Rani Chakma
On 19 December 1986, Bangladesh army men gang raped Vira Rani Chakma (16) of Nuaram Karbari Para, Dighinala. About 20 Bangladesh army personnel from the Viswa Ram Karbari Para army camp of Dighinala raided the indigenous Chakma village of Nuaram Karbari Para in the morning. All the male inhabitants of the village were taken by force to cut the jungle surrounding the army camp. Bangladesh army encircled the village at 11:00 a.m. and on the pretext of searching entered the houses. All the women and the girls who were in their houses, were stripped by the soldiers and were gang raped. Even the minors were not spared.

Bangladesh army attempt to rape an indigenous Buddhist girl in Lakshmichari

On 15 October 1095, Bangladesh army led by Leut. Zia from Barmachari Army Camp in Lakshmichari, Khagrachari district were patrolling the surrounding areas of Lakshmichari. At that time Miss. Shanti Lata Chakma (15) daughter of Mr. Hari Mohan Chakma of Marachengi in Lakshmichari and her nephew were returning home after shopping at the local bazaar in Lakshmichari. Then one of the Bangladesh army men attacked and attempted to rape her. Bangladesh army man molested her, touched her private parts and tried to strip her. But this brave indigenous Buddhist girl fought back tooth and nail and cried loudly for help. Her desperate cry drew a crowd of indigenous Buddhist people who were returning home after shopping. The presence of the shoppers and particularly her struggle saved her from being raped and possibly murdered by Bangladesh army.

It is perhaps important to point out that Leut. Zia had neither prevented the Bangladesh army rapist from attacking the helpless indigenous Buddhist girl nor had taken any actions against him confirming that he himself ordered the culprit to commit the crime.
