On 3 August 2004; Bangladesh army backed Bengali Muslim settlers killed 2 members of an indigenous Buddhist family in Dhandachara village of Bhushanchara in Barkal. At night at around 11 pm the Muslim settlers attacked Mr. Barun Kumar Chakma (33) and his family members with swords and spears. Mr. Barun Kumar Chakma died on the spot and his wife Ms. Subarna Chakma (28) and 11 months old son Kampan Chakma were seriously injured. Next day on 4 August Ms. Subarna died from her injuries. Kampan Chakma got serious injuries at his right leg.

Bangladesh army harass indigenous Buddhist people in Guimara

On 27 October 1995, Bangladesh army personnel of the 2 East Bengal Regiment (EBR) of Guimara Military Zone raided Tabla Para and the adjacent areas to capture Shanti Bahini. But they found no sign of the Shanti Bahini. Then, Bangladesh army terrorists harassed the local indigenous people and arrested some of them without any reasons. The victims were

1. Mr. Duranta Lal Chakma
2. Mr. Shashi Karbari
3. Mr. Shibu Pal.

Bangladesh army can arbitrarily detain, interrogate and torture any indigenous person in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Bangladesh army requires no warrant, suspicion is enough to harass the indigenous people. Bangladesh army is driving out indigenous Buddhist, Hindu and Christian tribes from Chittagong Hill Tracts and settling Muslim settlers in their villages. Bangladesh government and army's aim is to Islamize Chittagong Hill Tracts by terror.
