On 4 December 2007 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settler raped indiegnous Buddhist girl Miss Ruikrashu Marma (10) when she was going to school in Ramgarh of Khagrachari district. Indigenous women and girls in CHT are in constant threat of rape. |
Ansar guard attempt to rape an indigenous Buddhist girl at Golanda
On 11 November 1995, Havildar Mohammad Makbul of the No. 13 Ansar (Islamic Guards, a para‑military group) Battalion was on duty at Golanda Sentry Post. At that time, Miss Ranika Debi Chakma (9), the daughter of Mr. Shashi Mohan Chakma was going to fetch water.
Having found her alone, the Ansar or Islamic guard attacked her, molested her, touched her private parts, tried to strip her and attempted to rape her. But the indigenous Buddhist girl desperately cried for help and was able to draw attention of her neighbours who rushed to the scene and rescued her from the Islamic guard rapist.
