About 20 Bangladesh army personnel from the Viswa Ram Karbari Para army camp of Dighinala raided the indigenous Buddhist village of Nuaram Karbari Para in the morning. All the male inhabitants of the village were taken by force to cut the jungle surrounding the army camp. Bangladesh army encircled the village at 11:00 a.m. and on the pretext of searching entered the houses. Bangladesh army stripped all the women and the girls who were in their houses, and gang raped. Even the minors were not spared.

Bangladesh army and collaborators raid indigenous Buddhist home in Dighinala

On 26 December 1995, at night Bangladesh army personnel and PPSPC collaborators (Parbattya Chattagram Jatiyo Shanti and Samannoy Parishad) surrounded the house of Mr. Niru Chakma (30), the son of Mr. Chandra Bahan Chakma, of Boalkhali under the jurisdiction of Dighinala with an aim to arrest him on the ground that he was a supporter of the PCJSS. Fortunately, he was not at home that night and thus he escaped abduction and imprisonment.

Bangladesh army can arbitrarily detain, interrogate and torture any indigenous person in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Bangladesh army requires no warrant, suspicion is enough to harass the indigenous people. Bangladesh army is driving out indigenous Buddhist, Hindu and Christian tribes from Chittagong Hill Tracts and settling Muslim settlers in their villages. Their aim is to Islamize Chittagong Hill Tracts by terror.
