On 19 December 1986, Bangladesh army men gang raped Vira Rani Chakma (16) of Nuaram Karbari Para, Dighinala. About 20 Bangladesh army personnel from the Viswa Ram Karbari Para army camp of Dighinala raided the indigenous Chakma village of Nuaram Karbari Para in the morning. All the male inhabitants of the village were taken by force to cut the jungle surrounding the army camp. Bangladesh army encircled the village at 11:00 a.m. and on the pretext of searching entered the houses. All the women and the girls who were in their houses, were stripped by the soldiers and were gang raped. Even the minors were not spared.

Bengali settlers rape an indigenous Buddhist girl in Matiranga

On 25 February 2014 at around 11:00 am, Muslim settlers raped a 15 years old indigenous Marma girl at Kumar Para of Amtali union under Matiranga sub-district in Khagrachari district.

In the morning on the day of the incident, the victim went out to nearby bush areas to collect wild vegetables. On her way back home 2 Muslim settlers named Abdul Khalek ( 22) son of Rahim Mian and Mohammad Taru miya (23) son of late Lal Mian both from Ramshira Para under Matiranga sub-disctrict forcibly raped her. Later the victim was rescued by local indigenous people after they heard her scream.

The victim is a resident of Amtali village and a student of class nine at Khagrachri Technical School and College.
