In August 2007; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers broke into the boundary of Sadhantila Buddhist Temple in Dighinala and began clearing the land for erecting houses inside the temple boundary.

Bengali settlers attempt to grab inidigneous land in Longadu

On 16 May 2014, a group of Muslim settlers of Bhaibonchara bazaar in Longadu, Rangamati district attempted to grab indigenous.

Bangladesh army personnel ordered the indigenous cultivators to be present in their camp the following day with title documents.

Following the army patrol, a group of Muslim settlers numbering 20-30 went to that land and erected 3 houses on that land where the indigenous people were growing crops.

India was partitioned on the basis of religion in 1947. 98.5% of the CHT population was non-Muslim in 1947. The indigenous people of CHT opted to join either India or Burma. But Muslim League conspired with the Boundary Commission and illegally annexed CHT with East Pakistan in violation of the principle of partition. Successive Bangladesh governments have been sponsoring Muslim settlers from plain land to dilute the indigenous people of CHT. Bangladesh army's role is to protect the Muslim settlers and carry out ethnic cleansing against indigenous people in CHT.

Bangladesh army can arbitrarily confiscate indigenous people's land with the excuse of establishing military camps. Needless to say Chittagong Hill Tracts is one of the most militarized region on earth. Bangladesh army can harass and intimidate the indigenous people from these camps until indigenous people leave their villages and homes. After indigenous people leave, Bangladesh army settles Muslim settlers in their villages. Their aim is to Islamize Chittagong Hill Tracts by terror.
