On 21 December 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers raped and killed Thomaching Marma (14 year) of Baradulu village under Kaukhali. On that day she went to bring back family's cows from nearby forest. The Muslim settlers raped and killed the Buddhist girl when they found her alone in the forest.

Bengali settlers rape an indigenous Tripura girl in Matiranga

On 3 September 2014, Muslim settlers raped a 13 year old indigenous Tripura girl at Lal Kumar Para of Matiranga in Khagrachari district.

The incident took place at 8:00 am. On that day the victim went to a river stream near their house to take bath. As she was alone, Mohammad Salam, son of Mohammad Ali of Adarshagram grabbed and raped her. When the incident became known, the Muslim settlers met in an arbitration meeting in the evening and settled the issue by ordering Salam, the offender, to pay a sum of Taka 20,000 as compensation to the victim. No case has been filed with the police station in connection with the incident.
