On 4 December 2007 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settler raped indiegnous Buddhist girl Miss Ruikrashu Marma (10) when she was going to school in Ramgarh of Khagrachari district. Indigenous women and girls in CHT are in constant threat of rape.

Bengali settlers rape a 4 year old Chakma girl in Panchari

On 16 October 2014, a Muslim settler raped a 4 year old Chakma girl in Panchari. The Muslim settler was identified as Mohammad Lalan Mia (35).

In the evening of that day around 4:00 pm, mother of the victim and one more woman went to the nearest stream to take bath with their two children. After taking bath, they both returned home and left their children in the stream. In that scope Mohammad Lalan Mia, son of Farid Mia of Islampur village forcibly raped one of the children. Hearing girls scream a neighbour rushed to the spot and Lalan Mian escaped from the scene.

The child was rescued in sanguinary state and was admitted to the Panchari Upazila hospital.
