On 4 December 2007 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settler raped indiegnous Buddhist girl Miss Ruikrashu Marma (10) when she was going to school in Ramgarh of Khagrachari district. Indigenous women and girls in CHT are in constant threat of rape.

Bengali settlers attempt to rape an indigenous minor Marma girl in Rajasthali

On 22 March 2015, at about 4:45 pm, a Muslim settler attempt to rape a 14 years old indigenous Marma girl at Kuturia Para of Bangal Halia union under Rajasthali of Rangamati district. The indigenous girl is a student of grade 7 of Bangal Halia High School.

The indigenous girl was returning home alone from her school. When she was passing almost half-way to home, Mohammad Raju (16) son of Mohammad Azad appeared there and attempted to rape. The girl then and there shouted and tried to tussle with the Muslim settler. Hearing her shout, nearby villagers came there in her rescue and Mohammad Raju fled the spot in hurry.

It is learnt that Mohammad Raju came from Comilla few days ago and is now staying at house of his grandmother Khodeza Begum wife of Helal Uddin of No. 2 Kuturia Para of No. 3 Ward under Bangal Halia union of Rajasthali. It is mentionable that the girl was injured as she tried to escape the culprit and later was taken to a local clinic for treatment.
