On 19 December 1986, Bangladesh army men gang raped Vira Rani Chakma (16) of Nuaram Karbari Para, Dighinala. About 20 Bangladesh army personnel from the Viswa Ram Karbari Para army camp of Dighinala raided the indigenous Chakma village of Nuaram Karbari Para in the morning. All the male inhabitants of the village were taken by force to cut the jungle surrounding the army camp. Bangladesh army encircled the village at 11:00 a.m. and on the pretext of searching entered the houses. All the women and the girls who were in their houses, were stripped by the soldiers and were gang raped. Even the minors were not spared.

Bengali settlers attempt to rape an indigenous Buddhist woman in Ramgarh

On 7 May 2015, a Muslim settler attempted to rape an indienous Buddhist woman in Ramgarh, Khagrachari district. The Muslim settler was identified as Mohammad Sobuj (22) son of Uzir Mian from Bolturam Para village in Ramgarh. Mohammad Sobuj is a construction labourer and originally hails from Sylhet district of Bangladesh.

The 28 year old indigenous victim was attacked when she went to a well near an under-construction bridge in Kalapani village where Sobuj worked as a labourer. Sobuj followed her to the well and asked her for water. After drinking water, he grabbed her and tried to rape her. However, she fought back.

In the midst of their fight another indigenous Buddhist woman of the village Kandori Chakma appeared there. She saw the Muslim settler attempting to rape the victim. Seeing Kandori, Muslim settler let the indigenous victim go. Muslim settler silently left the spot.
