Bengali settlers attempt to rape an indigenous Buddhist girl in Matiranga

On 10 May 2015, a Muslim settler attempted to rape a 15 year old indigenous Buddhist girl at Thuilapara in Matiranga, Khagrachari district.

The indigenous Marma girl was a year 10 student of Tabalchari Kadamtoli High School. She was on her way to school on foot when the Muslim settler attacked her. As soon as the victim reached Rubber Plantation at 9:00 am, the Muslim settler grabbed her. The Muslim settler pulled her to a nearby jungle and tried to rape her. But the girl fought back and then ran away.

After being informed, indigenous students and village youths rushed to the place of occurrence. By then the Muslim settler had already left the scene.
