On 4 December 2007 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settler raped indiegnous Buddhist girl Miss Ruikrashu Marma (10) when she was going to school in Ramgarh of Khagrachari district. Indigenous women and girls in CHT are in constant threat of rape.

Bengali settlers rape an indigenous Tripura girl in Lama

On 18 August 2015, Muslim settlers gang raped a 16 year old indigenous Tripura girl in Lama, Bandarban district.

Mr. William Tripura president of Lama branch of Bangladesh Tripura Kallyan Sangsad filed a criminal case against 3 Muslim settlers including 2 employees of Lama Health Complex. He accused 3 Muslim settlers of raping the girl who had been admitted to Lama Upazila Health Complex earlier on 17 August.

The Muslim settlers were identified as-

1. Noor Muhammad (25), an employee of Lama Upazila Health Complex
2. Shah Alam (50), another employee of the Health Complex
3. Mohammad Selim (28)
