Settlers argue with Buddhist monk
In August 2007, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers broke into the boundary of Sadhantila Buddhist Temple in Dighinala and began erecting houses inside the temple boundary. Here the settlers argue with resident Buddhist monk.

Bengali settlers grab indigenous Buddhist land in Longadu

On 17 October 2015, Muslim settlers constructed a house after occupying a patch of land from from an indigenous Chakma Buddhist in Longadu, Rangamati district.

A Muslim settler named Mohammad Abdul Gafur and his son Rashed Mian have been trying to grab 5 acres of land belonging to Samir Kumar Chakma (60) son of late Tarani Sen Chakma of Bhaibonechara village in Longadu.

The land is registered in the name of Samir Chakma although Gafur claims it to be his own. Gafur and Rashed had cleared shrubs and bushes before finally constructing a farm house to physically occupy the land.

But when the indigenous owner and local villagers protested, Gafur and Rashed went to the local Bangladesh army camp and reported falsely that indigenous Chakma Buddhists had tore down his house.
