Bengali settlers rape an indigenous Buddhist girl in Kaptai

On 17 December 2015, Muslim settlers raped an indigenous Chakma girl while she was out for a morning walk near a navy camp at Kaptai, Rangamati.

The victim was first brought to the Victim Support Centre at Rangamati Police Station. Then she was sent to Rangamati General Hospital.

The victim told reporters that she had went out for a walk, as she always did, on Kaptai Sweden Polytechnic Institute road at 5am. At 5 am 4 Muslim settlers came in an autorickshaw. They pressed her mouth with their hands. They huddled her into the autorickshaw and then took her to Shahid Moazzem Navy Camp road. From there they led her to a nearby jungle and then raped her.

After raping her, the Muslim settlers got her back to the same autorickshaw, took her to BSPI road, pushed her from the autorickshaw to the ground and then sped away. She somehow walked back home and informed her parents about the incident. The victim said that she could recognize two of the Muslim settlers who drive autorickshaws at kaptai.
