Bengali settler rape a 3 and 1/2 years old girl in Laxmichari

On 1 February 2016, a settler raped a 3 and 1/2 years old indigenous child at Hatichara village in Laxmichari, Khagrachari district.

A 13 year old settler lured the toddler into his home by promising to give her ripen papaya and then raped her.

The victim has been admitted to Laxmichari Sadar hospital after the attack.

Reshmi Marma and Jhinuk Chakma, president and general secretary respectively of the Hill Women’s Federation Laxmichari branch have condemned the rape of the minor girl and demanded that the government takes drastic actions to prevent such occurrences in future.
