Indigenous victims of Sajek Muslim attack
On 20 April 2008 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked and burnt down 76 indigenous Buddhist houses in Sajek. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhist villagers and grab their land. The indigenous Chakma Buddhists and their burnt down houses after the attack.

Bengali settlers attack indigenous Hindu people in Alikadam

On 18 April 2016, following the abduction and killing of 3 Muslim settlers and cattle traders, Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous people at the bus terminal in Alikadam, Bandarban district. An indigenous Tripura (or Tripuri) Hindu couple sustained serious injuries in the incident. They were hospitalized in the Alikadam Hospital in critical condition.

3 Muslim settlers and cattle traders were identified as-

  1. Abu Bakkar (40)
  2. Shahab Uddin (25)
  3. Afsar Ali (35)

The dead bodies were found at a stream of Dim Paharer of Alikadam sub-district around 3:00 pm on 18 April 2016. The Muslim settlers and cattle traders were from Panbari area of Alikadam sub-district.

The local indigenous people informed that there was prevailing tensed situation soon after the discovery of dead bodies. Mr. Jonak Tripura and his wife were walking through the Alikadam Bus Terminal area in that afternoon. By then an agitated mob of Muslim settlers attacked them.

On the same day at 6:00 pm, a group of Muslim settlers set fire on 3 houses owned by the indigenous people at Uttar Falong Para Pan Bazaar in Alikadam in presence of Bangladesh army, BGB and Bangladesh police forces. The indigenous people whose houses were burnt to ashes are-

  1. Harish Chandra Tripura
  2. Priti Rani Tripura
  3. Chiro Moni Tripura

On that day Muslim settlers carried out communal attacks on the indigenous people in the Pan Bazaar area and set fire on their houses. 3 indigenous Tripura people were seriously wounded in the attack. The wounded are-

  1. Mr. Jana Chandra Tripura (40) son of Ming Shanha Tripura
  2. Maria Tripura (34) son of Hansirang Tripura
  3. Noberung Tripura (90) son of Norang Tripura
